About Me

Luke Antonellis here. Finding my calling has been a lengthy endeavor. I’ve made an attempt at electrical engineering, massage therapy, dog training, computer networking, and a slew of other jobs in between. Engineering and computer networking didn’t make it past the educational phase. The other careers didn’t last more than a couple years beyond completion of my education in their fields. There always seemed to be an overwhelming obstacle that prevented those careers from being long-term.

Writing stories was a passion when I was very young. R.L. Stine was my favorite author at the time and you could tell that from the style of my writing. I gained a little experience writing for a content mill several years ago. It ended up being just a few informative articles, but it gave me a taste of professional writing. More recently, the idea to become a writer reentered my mind. My initial impulse was to jump right into authoring a book and seeking a publisher, but I was reminded to take my time and think it through. A friend recommended starting a blog first and that’s what I did. It’s a blog where I explore my personal experience with mental illness and issues that stem from it. It is my sincere hope I’m finally on the right path. I’m always looking to improve, so if you have any suggestions on ways to improve the blog or topics for me to write about, just let me know. The goal of writing a book is still in place.

One of the best resources I know of for people who need information about- or support regarding mental illness is the National Alliance on Mental Illness. If you are in a crisis situation and need someone to talk to for support, you can contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, which is available in the United States 24/7. If you feel you are in immediate danger, call 9-1-1 (if in the U.S.) or get to your nearest emergency room.
